Nordic Surrogacy 10 Years – Letter from the Founder

To everyone following our journey

My own longing to become a parent is the foundation of Nordic Surrogacy, and ten years later I am filled with both pride and humility. The journey that led to the founding of Nordic Surrogacy began long before the company itself came into existence. It began with my personal dream of becoming a father.

Many years ago, I found myself navigating the complex and emotionally charged process of building a family through surrogacy. It was a journey marked by hope, worry, and countless questions. When my twin daughters were finally born, everything changed. That day, I realized that no one should have to go through this journey alone or without a sense of security. From that realization, Nordic Surrogacy was born, with a vision to provide others with the support and guidance I myself had been missing.

From Dream to Reality

When we began in 2016, we were a small team with a big idea: to create a transparent, ethical, and safe path for people who dream of becoming parents. The early years were focused on building trust, creating solid structures, and finding partners who shared our core values. We started in the Nordic region, but soon expanded and established partnerships with clinics and legal experts in several countries.

Today, ten years later, Nordic Surrogacy is a company with nearly 30 dedicated employees and a global network of partners. We have helped hundreds of families from around the world fulfill their dream of having a child. Our programs have evolved to meet diverse needs, ranging from guaranteed programs with donated eggs to solutions for families with their own embryos. Each step has been about ensuring safety and quality in a process that is both emotionally and legally complex.

Our Milestones

• 2016: Nordic Surrogacy is founded
• 2017: The first family welcomes their child
• 2020: We reach 100 families
• 2021: Expansion to new destinations
• 2022: Company expansion with team members in Europe and Colombia
• 2025: The team grows to over 20 employees and we strengthen our international partnerships with additional destinations

Reflection and the Future

It has not always been easy. Surrogacy is a complex and sensitive process that requires responsibility, ethics, and transparency. We have learned that every family’s journey is unique, and that our mission extends beyond legal and medical matters, it is about creating security, empathy, and hope.

As we look ahead to the next ten years, our ambition is clear: to continue being a leading organization that puts families at the center. We strive to develop even more reliable surrogacy programs, strengthen our international collaborations, and contribute to an industry where ethics and quality always come first.
