About the surrogacy process – how does it work?
- In a surrogacy process, the steps are defined and the goal is always the same – for you to become a parent – but the path to that goal is unique to each process.
- The surrogacy process starts with an advising session where we go through your individual circumstances step by step to determine which program and destination is right for you.
- We will then be by your side to guide you through the next steps, whatever your surrogacy process looks like, all the way to your destination.
What do intended and new parents say?
Nothing of this could have happened without you
Thank you and your colleagues for everything you’ve done to make our dream come true
We have never been anything but super satisfied with you
Cost of the surrogacy process
We strive to keep costs low and offer affordable surrogacy processes without compromising on the safety and well-being of the surrogate, baby and intended.
We work with leading clinics, doctors and lawyers to ensure the process is safe for all parties involved.
Frequently asked questions about surrogacy
If I need to choose an egg donor, how do I proceed?
The process of choosing an egg donor is different depending on the destination you choose for the surrogacy process. Most commonly, you choose an egg donor from a database or the clinic selects a small number of donors who fit your requirements.
For most intended parents, choosing an egg donor is an emotional step, and it is not uncommon to become attached to the selected donor. To facilitate this part of the process, it is good to remember that the programme is both voluntary and medically demanding for the donor.
In some cases, the egg donor may decide to drop out of the programme for personal or medical reasons, such as not responding to hormone therapy. In such an event, a new egg donor will be selected.
In what countries are Nordic Surrogacy’s partnering clinics located?
The clinics that Nordic Surrogacy works with are located in the USA, Georgia and Colombia.
What citizenship do children born through surrogacy gain?
The citizenship of the child will depend on the regulatory framework for surrogacy in the country where the surrogacy process takes place. In some countries the child is born without any citizenship (stateless), and in other countries the child is born with the citizenship of the country of birth. Ultimately, however, after a legal process, the child always gets the citizenship of the parent’s home country.
About Nordic Surrogacy
“My big dream was to have children. After my girls were born with the help of a surrogate, my family was complete. But, with the girls, the next dream was born – the dream of helping others create their families.”
– Eduardo Afonso, CEO and founder of Nordic Surrogacy.
